I am going through a phase where I am anti-computer. It is one of the luxuries of not having a standard job though it does pose a bit of problem when you are an author of a blog. Though I have not been posting, I am still writing in my journal on nearly a daily basis, and to add to the words I have sketches. When I wrote this post back on the first, I knew I wanted to post it sooner rather than later. The sooner is gone and the later has arrived, and I am finally sitting down to type it out.
I have come to realize over the past few weeks that I need to be combining my writing and my sketching along with getting out into the mountains. The mountains after all are why we moved here. Though I can sustain myself on just one of these activities for a time, I always have to fall back on the others at some point. It is similar to me taking my happy pills and not going to therapy; it would work but not as well as when I do both.
With that being said, the blog maybe a little quiet for the next couple of months. Between my anti- computer feelings right now, my limited free time and my need to touch all aspects of my art and get out into the mountains, I’ve decided to rely on my sketch book and eventually get things onto the blog. To that end I have developed a simple plan: to write and sketch to capture Life.
How nice that you can come – seemingly quietly – to that realization and, better yet, be able to follow through on it. Many of us can do the former but not the latter.
Sounds like a great plan to me!! I look forward to seeing Life captured through your words and sketches …
