I’m sitting in the parent pickup line

In my twenties I sat on pickup lines
saving them for the weekends 
testing them in front of the mirror 

I had dreams of what those weekend nights would be 

A cacophony erupts from the school
Children tousle, shuffle, run and clop to the open doors of the bus 

I wonder what their dreams are
