Comfort

Essay, Poetry

I’m on the floor, flat on my back.
Cushioned by my sleeping pad, warmed by my sleeping bag.
Left arm out stretched to Noah’s bed.
His tiny hand grasping my finger.
He threw up in the night, so here I lie to comfort him.
While the bag, my father’s, comforts me.
